Filter Provider is a crucial app for Samsung tablet and smartphone cameras. Basically, it supplies your camera app with filters for the photos you take. If you uninstall or delete this app by mistake, you'll probably have problems using your smartphone's camera.
For this reason, it's important to think twice before deleting system apps from your Android smartphone. In the past, it was important to delete lots of these built-in apps, but now it's not necessary for various reasons.
For one, Android smartphones keep getting more RAM, so it's not a big deal if the system apps take up a little memory. Secondly, Google operating systems now restrict lots of activity from apps open in the background. Whereas just a few years ago, deactivating these system apps was necessary if you wanted to improve your battery life.
Luckily, after Google stopped naming new versions of the Android operating system, they also introduced optimizations for apps open in the background. For these reasons, it's no longer necessary to delete system apps like Filter Provider.
